How to Search the Internet from the Start Menu

The Start Menu search box is very useful to search through files and folders on your PC. However, you can also use the search box to search the internet. To enable this feature, log on with an administrator account and follow these steps.

1. In the Start Menu search box, type GPEDIT.MSC and then press the ENTER key

2. Go to User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Start Menu and Taskbar

3. Double click "Add Search Internet Link to Start Menu", and then select Enabled

4. Click OK and then close the Group Policy Editor

Now, every time you type something in the Start Menu search box, a "Search the Internet" link will appear. Click on the link and it will launch the search inside of your web browser.
